About Me~ I am a proud “‘Zonie” 4th generation. My great grandfather moved to Phoenix as a child and served as one of the first motorcycle police officers. His son, my great uncle Walter was the first motor officer killed in the line of duty in Phoenix. My maternal grandmother and grandfather loved the wild west and beauty of Arizona so much they left their roots in the midwest and moved to Tucson where my grandfather, a music conductor worked as a radio broadcaster and my grandmother taught school.
Raised in Buckeye and Litchfield Park, Az my first dance classes were at age three in Glendale, then Take Five Dance Academy in Avondale. I moved to Nevada as a teenager and continued studying dance throughout high school then matriculating to UNR, UNLV and the University of Utah Tanner Dance Program. My journey teaching began in in 1997 when I became AFAA certified for fitness classes. Within a few years I was teaching Kickboxing, Aerobics, Spin, Childrens Creative Dance, Body Pump, Pilates and earned 200 hour RYT Yoga Teacher certification. I began teaching pole dance in 2006 but had spent the proceeding years making my ballet lessons pay off by dancing in in shows, gogo, and nightclubs.
Already a dance, exercise and yoga instructor teaching pole and chair dance to me is a way to have fun and help other women become comfortable in their own skin. Learning pole gives you an appreciation for your own unique movement style. Pole is unique because really in pole and exotic movement the only “wrong way” is not being yourself. To me, instead of being a movement form where you have to fit into a mold this can be embraced by all body types and fitness levels. It is really for everyone.
I am the mother of three awesome boys 🙂
